Resources for Self Help

NAMI is a peer run organization that focuses on individual experiences being shared with other who are experiencing, or are witnessing mental health challenges in their lives or their family and friends lives. Trainings are robust and peer led as are support groups. Local groups can be found at the main website as well as resources.

Talking to someone or just having them on the other end of the phone so you are not alone, can change a situation. If you are in crisis or feel like hurting yourself, that you’d be better off dead or any other thought of ending your life, please reach out to the National Hotline by dialing 988. You can also TEXT by sending #741741 for text based assistance when you can’t speak about what is going on.

If you are in a situation where you are not safe to leave, borrow someone’s phone and contact SafeHouse 24/7, 7 days a week to find help.
