Jessica Waters, Phd, LADC, CRADC (she/her) is an E-RYT 200/500 RYT yoga teacher with extensive training in multiple styles of yoga as an aging, plus sized body with chronic health issues. She is able to help others with similar issues find safer and more enjoyable ways to customize their practice and connect to their own bodies with the inclusion of intermodal expressive arts. A trained transpersonal psychologist and counselor in expressive arts therapy and arts in health, and a background as an artist, and former art teacher, she loves leading seated, steated/standing chair yoga and bed yoga classes at senior centers, rehab facilities and online. She is certified in Accessible Yoga; Yoga for All Bodies; Yin Yoga; Restorative; Hatha; Ashtanga. She infused interfaith, universal and Bhakti philosophy and spirituality in her practice as well as depth psychology (expressing the subconscious) in her artwork through Oracle cards. She is a trained and mentored Curandera Espiritu in the Mexican traditional folk healing practice of Curanderismo, which combines multiple healing practices including Ayurveda.

  • Pranayama for Everyone

    Pranayama includes different styles of breathwork. Many times individual with chronic lung conditions and other medical issues as wel as beginners have trouble with pranayama pactices. Jessica is well versed in helping people engage, where they are at, within their comfort zone. She utilizes HeartMath breathwork a well as traditional yoga methods. As a large bodied person, livng with chronic lung diseas, she understands how important acceptance is in the development of physical practice. After her COVID infection in 2021, she oly had 50% lung capacity. After 2 years of visualization, breathwork, intention setting and coming into awareness of her body symptoms and signals, her lung capacity is now near normal!

  • Creative Expression

    AYEA includes clearing the monkey mind expressing yourself with the visual art, writing, and free movement. This allows for a deeper experience and assists in the letting go and personal processing of things that are weighing you down, creating a unique yoga experience.     This is not your typical yoga class. It is tailored for large bodies, limited mobility, for those with chronic health conditions, of all ages that struggle with typical yoga classs and feel unwelcome and judged. We embrace your full body and emphasize loving the nurturing the parts of you that are often shamed, in a Body Positive Philosophy in action. We don’t just use the words, we live it. Jessica has her own chronic health issues that stem from COVID, psoratic arthritis and eating disorders and has used this method and the arts, to help her recovery from sexual assault and trauma.
